Snow groundsel (Dolichoglottis)

Found in the alpine areas of the South Island and Stewart Island, these tall daisies bloom in December and January with a burst of large white or yellow flowers. Although about 11% of New Zealand is above the bushline, over 600 native plant species are found in alpine areas.
