Diversions premiere

Douglas Lilburn takes a bow after the premiere performance of his composition Diversions for string orchestra by the Boyd Neel Orchestra at the Wellington Town Hall on 9 July 1947. The score was published by Oxford University Press in 1963. The five short movements for strings did not attract critical acclaim, but one reviewer noted that the piece was attractive and light.
