Canterbury Society of Arts, 1906

Members of the Canterbury Society of Arts hang pictures for an exhibition in 1906. By that time all the four main centres had established art societies, and by the next year all  had galleries to show their work. The styles of the amateur artists remained largely Victorian, with little influence from new European styles.
