Tasman pulp and paper mill in Kawerau, Bay of Plenty

The Tasman pulp and paper mill started production in the mid-1950s, as did the New Zealand Forest Products mill at Kinleith. They added a new facet to the regional economies of the Bay of Plenty and the Volcanic Plateau. Both were among New Zealand’s largest industrial enterprises.
