Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa Ngārimu's parents, Marea (left) and Hamuera (centre) accepted his posthumous Victoria Cross at a special hui in 1943. Also present was his aunt, Materoa Reedy (right), who made the principal speech of welcome.
