A big cheque

In the 2000s cheques have been used less frequently as other forms of payment, notably EFTPOS, have gained popularity. However, cheques can be good for publicity purposes. On this occasion in June 2007 Prime Minister Helen Clark and Speaker of the House of Representatives Margaret Wilson handed over a $650,000 grant in the form of a large cheque to the Tauranga Art Gallery committee.
