Story: Sewage, water and waste

Earthsong Eco Village, 2007

Earthsong Eco Village, 2007

Earthsong Eco Village in West Auckland was planned from 1992 and building started in 2000. The village was founded on sustainable development, co-housing and permaculture principles. Instead of a system of bringing water in and sending waste out, permaculture seeks to make use of resources (including waste) on site. Earthsong sources additional water from rooftops, and grey (used) water and stormwater are managed on site.
