Anti-tip protesters

By the early 1970s New Zealanders were becoming more environmentally aware. Here a group protests outside the Petone Borough Council against the proposed Korokoro rubbish tip in 1972. The tip, which would have filled in Galbraiths Gully, did not go ahead.
