Christchurch market (1st of 2)

Christchurch market

Christchurch’s Market Hall was built in Market Square, later renamed Victoria Square, in the 1850s. Farmers and growers sold produce, and initially livestock as well. The hall, with its steeply pitched roof, stands to the left of the main road in the centre of this view.
