Stirring jam

Teenage workers stir jam at S. Kirkpatrick & Co., Nelson, in the 1920s. Kirkpatrick’s ‘K’ jam was popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Jam manufacturers arose in areas where fruit was grown, such as Central Otago, Nelson and Hawke’s Bay.
