Memorial gates

Memorial gates

The entrance gates to some parks also serve as war memorials. These gates in Greymouth once stood at the front of the former Grey Main School and commemorated its war dead. In 2008 they were controversially removed by a developer of the site. They were recovered and re-erected at the entrance to Dixon Park.
