Computer assessment

New entrants at a school on Auckland’s North Shore test their reading skills online, using Galaxy Kids Literacy, a multimedia program developed by the Wendy Pye Group. Through its company Sunshine Books, Wendy Pye produces and sells multimedia resources for beginning learners of reading and maths. The Galaxy series are animated CD-ROMs, which enable teachers to assess their students’ early literacy skills while they’re having fun on the class computer.
