Advertising on shop fronts

These Palmerston North shop fronts in the mid-1920s display advertising typical of small shops of the time. The shop’s name, offerings and brands were painted on hoardings, windows, and the walls of the upper storey – and in this case on the posts supporting the verandah roof.
