In 1893 Rāhui Te Kiri Tenetahi (right) and her family were in dispute with the Crown over the sale of their interests in Little Barrier Island; three years later they were forcibly evicted. She is shown here with her daughter Ngāpeka on Little Barrier Island in 1893.
