Cobb & Co advertisement

In 1870 the Daily Southern Cross newspaper advertised Cobb & Co’s telegraphic line of mail coaches, which left Auckland for the Waikato at 6.30 a.m. three times a week, returning the following day. The journey from Auckland to Cambridge cost 40 shillings – a week’s pay for a butcher or a grocer’s assistant.
