Hōri Kingi Te Ānaua, John White, and Te Ua Haumēne, 1860s

Between October 1862 and April 1865 John White (centre) was resident magistrate for the Whanganui region; during this time he was in contact with Te Ua Haumēne (right), who lived for a time at Pākaraka, and Hōri Kingi Te Ānaua (left), a Whanganui leader and government official.
