Silver Fern railcar crash

Silver Fern railcar crash

The carriages of the Silver Fern railcar lie down an embankment after a fatal accident in 1981. The railcar went too fast around a curve as a result of several missing speed restriction signs, and it derailed and rolled. Four people were flung out and then crushed by the carriages.
