Rose breeder Sam McGredy

Internationally renowned rose breeder Sam McGredy emigrated to New Zealand in 1972 from Ireland and developed a multi-million-dollar export business breeding roses in Auckland. He retired from rose breeding in 2007 and is shown here with his last selection, ‘Rose Hamilton Gardens’, named in honour of the Hamilton Gardens, which feature a well-maintained rose garden.
