Appaloosa (2nd of 3)

Appaloosa

The most noticeable features of the Appaloosa breed are its colourful coat and striped hooves. Its base coat colour may be bay or black, and it usually has spots. Appaloosas are very placid and willing to please, and excel at a wide range of activities, from trekking to dressage, to western riding to three-day events. Rider Rachel Wiffin is competing in a western reining event on her Appaloosa, Waukesha Princess, in Taupo in 1991.
