RACE Services developed this computerised system (shown here at Greenlea Premier Meats, Morrinsville) for weighing and grading beef, sheep, goat, pig or deer carcasses. It can be programmed to classify each carcass according to a range of different criteria, such as sex, muscling, fatness, defects and dressing faults (cuts, or areas with tissue removed). The system can provide valuable feedback to farmers and processors.
