Kenepuru Sound

This is Kenepuru Sound in the Marlborough Sounds. One meaning of ‘kenepuru’ is silt. In the foreground silt can be seen extending about two-thirds of the way out from shore. A number of Māori place names relate to the soil in a particular area.
