New Zealand has over 1,000 organic farms that participate in the international scheme Willing Workers on Organic Farms (WWOOF). Tourists, usually young people from overseas, can stay on the farm for free in exchange for about four hours of labour each day. Here, WWOOFers make compost on a farm in Todds Valley, near Nelson.
