Hydatids information display

Hydatids information display

People gather around a display explaining the perils of hydatids at an agricultural show in the 1970s. A disease that could be spread from animals to humans, hydatids was a major health hazard in the 19th and 20th centuries, especially for rural dwellers. It was brought under control by public awareness campaigns, and inspection and treatment of dogs, which carry the disease.
