Three New Zealand nurses who served with the republicans in the Spanish Civil War

René Mary Shadbolt (centre) and two other nurses, Isobel Dodds (left) and Millicent Sharples (right), were sent to Spain in 1937 by the New Zealand Spanish Medical Aid Committee to provide support for the republican cause.
