Pōwhiri, Te Kaha marae

A pōwhiri welcomes Corporal Willie Apiata to his home marae at Te Kaha, to celebrate his Victoria Cross. Marae are often symbols of a tribal right to a particular area. This one is within the rohe (tribal area) of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui.
