Pasifika festival

Since 1995 the Pasifika festival has been held at Auckland, home to New Zealand’s largest Pacific Island population. The performing arts of Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga, Kiribati, Fiji and the Cook Islands are celebrated at an event which draws thousands of people to Western Springs. As well as showcasing traditional dance and music, the festival features contemporary art forms such as hip hop.
