Group on a croquet lawn

This group of respectably dressed guests has been playing croquet on the lawn at The Grange, Clive, in Hawke’s Bay. Richer landowners, such as Joseph Rhodes, owner of The Grange, invited guests for balls, afternoon teas and games of croquet, or, later, tennis.
