Story: Diseases of sheep, cattle and deer

Cattle tick

Cattle tick

Cattle ticks spend most of their life in pasture but must feed on an animal host to complete their life cycle. They live on the host and feed for up to five days, then drop off. They will attach themselves to most domestic animals, many birds, and humans. In New Zealand they are found mainly in the North Island.
