Oral drenching of sheep and cattle to control internal parasites has been a routine practice on farms for many years and has provided a simple and effective remedy. However, internal parasites are now developing resistance to the drenches, which are in danger of becoming ineffective. Alternative strategies, involving different pasture species and grazing management routines, are being investigated.
