South Auckland youth

In 2007, over half of South Auckland’s population was aged below 30. A small minority form gangs, creating some crime problems in the city. To combat the appeal of gangs, local councils have sponsored a range of sporting and cultural activities, such as this kapa haka (performing arts) group.
