White Sunday (1st of 3)

White Sunday

Children lead a procession at the Auckland Samoan Methodist Church (St John’s) in Ponsonby, to celebrate White Sunday in 2005. White Sunday is a holiday in Samoa, falling on the second Sunday in October. The day was set aside by the London Missionary Society to honour children in Samoa. The White Sunday meal may be the biggest feast of the year for many Samoan families in Auckland.
