Crossing wapiti bulls with red deer hinds is now common to produce offspring with faster growth rates than red deer. The crossbreds have to be managed differently to obtain the best returns. Sometimes these animals look very similar to red deer. In this photo, the red deer at centre is flanked by crossbred animals.
