Story: Rabbits

Rabbit warren

Rabbit warren

Rabbits prefer to make their warrens in sandy banks. This hill face in Gibbston valley, Central Otago, is riddled with burrows, and much of the vegetation has been destroyed. Heavy rainfall would continue the damage started by the rabbits’ burrowing and overgrazing, and could lead to soil erosion.
