Koaro (Galaxias brevipinnis)

Kōaro (Galaxiasbrevipinnis)

The koaro is one of around 40 species of native freshwater fish. It prefers swift-flowing boulder streams. Introduced trout compete for food, and the koaro is one of 10 native fish now considered threatened.
