Lemonwood (Pittosporum eugenioides) is an attractive tree, commonly found in forest and regenerating scrub. It is easily distinguished from other plants by its glossy yellow-green leaves that when crushed emit a strong lemon scent. Sweet-smelling yellow flowers appear in spring and are followed by small green capsules that take about a year to ripen.
