The forest cabbage tree (Cordyline banksii) is a smaller and more slender plant than tī kōuka, Cordyline australis. It is common in lowland and upland forests and regenerating scrub in the North Island and northern half of the South Island. It is easily recognised by its lax, untidy form and drooping leaves.
