Mountain lacebark (Hoheria glabrata) grows in gullies in the wet western mountains of the South Island. It is differs from another mountain lacebark – Hoheria lyallii – in its almost hairless leaves. A spectacular display of white blossoms occurs in late summer. The flowers have five overlapping petals.
