Geoff Moon puts up a hide to observe and photograph wading birds. A retired vet and renowned wildlife photographer (who died in 2009), he went to great lengths to get close to birds without disturbing them – disguising himself as shrubbery, or building platforms for hides close to nests. He returned daily to his hide over many weeks to catch certain events, such as parents bringing food to the nest or feeding their chicks. He sat still for hours at a stretch to get a perfect photo.
