Denis Glover's interest in fine typography is reflected in this page, featuring a quotation from D. P. Updike, from Printing types: a second specimen book of faces commonly in use at the Caxton Press. The first specimen book had been published in 1940, and the two books were conceived as devices for showing off Glover's ideas about typography. Updike was a Boston printer from the early 20th century who had published an influential book on printing typefaces.
