New Zealand design elements: men’s Queen’s Service Order badge

The badge of the Queen’s Service Order is a stylised mānuka flower in sterling silver. A circle of red enamel surrounding an image of Queen Elizabeth II in the centre of the flower sports the inscription ‘For service’ and ‘Mo nga mahi nui’. The ribbon features colours significant to New Zealand — kōkōwai (red ochre), black and white — shown in the traditional stepped poutama pattern.
