Vins Ale, a non-alcoholic aerated water (soft drink), was made by W. C. Vincent in Pahīatua, Wairarapa, around 1907. Vincent's company, the Pahiatua Cordial and Mineral Water Factory, was founded in the late 19th century and ran until the 1970s. At one time each town in the Wairarapa had its own workshop making its own brands of aerated water.
