Kahungunu's wives

Kahungunu was the eponymous ancestor of Ngāti Kahungunu. He was born in Kaitāia and eventually settled on the Māhia Peninsula. Kahungunu was renowned as a lover rather than a fighter, and this map shows the places at which he took wives and had children.
