Muaūpoko tribal area

The highlighted area on this map represents the current main area of settlement of Muaūpoko people. Traditionally, they occupied an area stretching from Sinclair Head in the south to the Rangitīkei River in the north. This territory was bounded by the Tararua Ranges in the east and sea in the west.
