The Weekly’s front cover changed dramatically during Jean Wishart’s long editorship. When she took charge in 1952 the covers generally featured simple stock photos of models, but Wishart soon converted them into colourful and engaging enticements to casual buyers, with photos of glamorous celebrities and tantalising coverlines.
