Bill Haythornthwaite’s design firm produced logos and advertising for Tasman Empire Airways Ltd (TEAL) during the 1940s and 1950s. It was one of their best-known and most important contracts. Although some of the imagery would now be considered to contain inappropriate and negative stereotypes, at the time they were iconic and shaped how tourists pictured New Zealand and the Pacific.
