Te tangata whai rawa o Weneti is the Māori translation of Shakespeare's The merchant of Venice. It was translated by Māori scholar Pei Te Hurinui Jones in 1945. Jones also translated Julius Caesar and Othellointo Māori. Te tangata whai rawa o Weneti was first performed on stage in 1985, and a film version directed by Don Selwyn was released in 2001. In this clip Portia (played by Ngarimu Daniels) and her maidservant Nerissa (Veeshayne Armstrong) make plans to select a husband for Portia.
