Letter from Hōne Wiremu Heke Pōkai

This letter was written by Hōne Wiremu Heke Pōkai (Hōne Heke) on 11 January 1849. Heke writes of concerns regarding Pākehā intentions. He notes that while he is favourably inclined at the moment, if his concerns are not taken seriously peace may come to an end.
