Story: Feature film

Meet the Feebles, 1990 (1st of 4)

Peter Jackson self-funded his first film, Bad taste, but received money from the New Zealand Film Commission for his second. Meet the Feebles, an adult puppet shocker, is triumphantly offensive. The Film Commission grew so unhappy during production that they removed their credit. As this trailer reveals, its female lead, Heidi the hippo, won an international award for her role, which involves carnage with a machine gun.
