Story: Parliament

Ayes lobby panorama

This panorama shows the Ayes lobby. It is where MPs go to record a vote in favour of an issue ('aye'). This now occurs only in the case of a personal vote, when members are free to decide their position on the basis of personal belief. For most motions before the House, voting is verbal.
