Use of hard drugs

This table shows the extent of the use of various drugs in New Zealand on the basis of a 2007/8 survey of 6,500 New Zealanders aged 16–64. Compared with overseas patterns there is a high use of party pills, ecstasy and amphetamines, but a comparatively low use of opiates and cocaine.
